I have been working in this sector since 2015, helping businesses in diverse sectors to apply the technology appropriately and effectively. I have a comprehensive understanding of blockchain and its application supported by a long career in business and tech. I have held senior technical and financial roles in businesses across multiple sectors including utilities, manufacturing, leisure and software, leading several enterprises through their start-up and growth phases. I speak at events across the world and online, as keynote, panellist, mentor and chair, and I regularly appear on BBC radio and TV as a cryptocurrency expert to provide straightforward commentary on news stories. My books include "Blockchain Hurricane: Origins, Applications and Future of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency" (BEP / Harvard 2020), What's Hot in Blockchain and Crypto (with Ash Costello) and the SimCavalier series of cybercrime scifi thrillers. I am a graduate of Newcastle University and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. I lecture at Teesside University in both the International Business School and the School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies. I hold a 3rd Dan black belt in karate and live in the UK and France with my husband and teenagers.
